Awards and Give-Aways
Over the past couple of weeks I have taken a small hiatus from blogging. While I did still visit a few blogs here and there, I rarely commented, let alone posted. Nothing major...no swine flu, no life-altering family changes, but just some much-needed time away from the computer to reflect on life, implement some new family routines, devote time to our marriage, and truly be present with our little ones.
In the evenings, I've been busy reading books on dynamic families and how they operate in this fast-paced and crazy world, and visiting blogs that truly have a focus on purposeful parenting. I recently discovered Shawn over at Life at Buttercup Farm. Not only is her blog beautiful to look at, but her message on parenting that espouses fostering creativity in her children while providing safety, security and preserving the innocence of childhood is uplifting! Anne Marie is another breath of fresh air, and I mean that literally and figuratively. If you haven't visited Nada Farm Life with Anne Marie then you are missing out one inspirational lady. This busy mother of five, truly lives from the earth and is also about living an authentic life that celebrates motherhood, childhood and everything in between.
Recently, while away, I was presented with several very sweet awards. I apologize to these ladies for having been remiss in posting my gratitude. Please know that I appreciate your thoughtfulness and that they couldn't have come at a better time! Although the computer can be a curse it is more often a blessing and blogging has certainly allowed me to discover all of the wonderful women (and men) out there who are doing their best day in and day out to live authentic lives, make their homes beautiful, and parent with a purpose. So, thank you...
Charlotte from Charlotte's Weblog. Charlotte is a new blogging friend who has a delightfully sweet blog.
Cathy from The Stylish House. Cathy is an interior designer who has literally lived all over the world. Her blog is incredible and her eye for beauty and design are evident in her postings!
Shannon from Reason for Living. Shannon is a wife and mother of 4 precious kiddos. She just recently became an avid gardener and is raising fruits and vegetables in addition to kids! LOL
Finally, last, but certainly not least, I won my very first give-away. And get this...it was the first give-away that I have ever entered!!! Can you say beginner's luck?!!! Lori over at Chalotte English Boutique sews the most beautiful children's dresses. I have marveled at her handiwork and the beauty and detail she sews into each creation. Recently, she tried her hand at apron-making, where once-again everything she touches turns to gold! Imagine my delight, when Lori posted a comment on my blog that I had won the beautiful rooster apron she had created. Thank you again, Lori!!! Please drop by her blog to see the beautiful creation that I won. If you wish to peruse her on-line boutique I have it listed on my side-bar under the heading "Making Life Beautiful", Chalotte English Boutique. (And yes, I had her boutique listed long before I ever won her give-away!)
Blessing to all of you ladies for brightening up my days!

ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings,
Congratulations. I'll go see what you won as soon as I post this comment. I understand completely how you needed to take some time away from the computer. It can become so addictive, and there certainly are more important things in life, like family.

Charlotte

ReplyDeletelove your new look here :)
Hi Valerie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind words! I totally agree that family is everything. You really see the results as your children grow older and go out into the world. It is no guarantee but those raised with love and a steady guiding hand with good values do so much better. I was drawn to your site because it is warm and inviting ---a reflection of you! Have a wonderful day. ~Cathy~
