A Valentine Lunch for the Littles

An eleven o'clock dismissal this morning meant my kiddos would be home for lunch.

I had this Valentine Luncheon surprise waiting for them...

 On the menu...

heart-shaped PB&Js
rosy applesauce
fresh strawberries, and
chocolate-strawberry yogurt smoothies.

While I wish I had some fantastic, made-from scratch smoothie or applesauce recipe to share with you...I do not!  Yogurt Smoothies are from Dannon...Strawberry Applesauce from Motts.  :)

Each kiddo also found a Valentine bucket filled with chocolate goodies, a ring pop, and a small trinket...jump ropes for Mary and Ben and a new Hot Wheels car for Luke.  Valentine balloons from the Dollar General store decorated their chairs.  It's the little things!

(I was so tickled to find jump ropes on sale at Walmart earlier this week.  Just last week, Benjamin shared with me how much he LOVES jumping rope.  My boy...loves to jump rope!  Told me that he jumps with his friend Madison at every recess!)

And for dessert?

Graham cracker "smore" sandwiches.  Marshmallow-flavored frosting spread between graham crackers with the excess on the sides being dipped in Valentine sprinkles.  Yum.

Hoping that your day has been filled with lots of hugs and kisses from your loved ones.  As Mother Teresa said,

"Love begins by taking care of the closest ones - the ones at home."

  8. We had a very busy day at school.

Ken and I will extend the holiday
into today with a dinner date.

To answer your question about the coffee bags. I think I got them at
the Fall craft fair at the Lenexa Community Center a couple of years ago.
