"Pinkalicious" for Pink Saturday
I'll make this short and sweet! Mary Catherine (now is that a "pinkalicious" name or what?!!!) wanted to participate in this week's Pink Saturday, so...here is my four-year old's contribution:
Yup...there really is a book out there for all those little fun-lovin', pink-wearin', prima donas! Pinkalicious is an adorable story about a little girl who eats soooo many pink cupcakes that she turns...you guessed it, pink! The antidote...a healthy dose of self-discipline and to eat more greens (as in spinach, brussel sprouts, and broccoli). YUCK! :)
If you have any little ones that you think might be a Pinkalicious fan you can learn more here! Author Elizabeth Kahn's website provides an overview of the book along with pink links, party ideas and suggestions for teachers and parents.
Happy Pink Saturday!
Our FAVORITE bedtime story!
Little brother was feeling left out and wanted his picture taken too!
Ahhhh...now that's better! My other "pinkalicious" kiddo! (Daddy HATES the fact that he has a pink bink! (i.e. pacifier))

visit me anytime...
My DH thought my first born, a daughter, should be dressed in sex non-specific clothes. When she arrived early and I pleaded with him to buy me something pink, he came home with green, blue and yellow...when my SON was born on the other hand, my son had to wear boy clothes. Don't worry though, my sister brought me pink the first time she visited when my daughter was just days old AND once I was out and about, I bought all the pink I could stand. I knocked that foolish idea right out of my DH's head...perhaps that is why he changed his tune for the second one.

What a fun pink post. Darling little ones and that book is perfect for a little girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect Pink Saturday post! A good warning about too much pink - if that's possible!!
ReplyDeleteYour kids look darling. I hope they're having a fun Easter weekend.
Ohmygosh, PERFECT gift for my grand-daughter, Rachel, who ♥'s pink just as much as her Mimi. What a sweet post for your first Pink Saturday. Welcome. Can't wait to see what you share next week.

My daughter has the book Pinkalicious.
Hello Valerie!!! It's so wonderful to meet you--a fellow Missourian, now a Kansan--still close by!! I loved your daughter's book--infact, I eyeballed that one recently at a local bookstore. Now that I have Mary C's nod of approval, I will have to purchase that for my 3yr old gr girl! Tell that hubby of yours that only a manly boy will enjoy his pink bink!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI read with interest all of the places WE have in common!!! I love Weston, too!! I also saw your list of children's authors. I just recently fell in love with Rob Scotton (Russell the Sheep book for one). I am taking a little class at a local comm. college and the teacher brought it in to share---I promptly ordered it! I think I bought it more for ME than for my gr. girl, BUT I will read it to her!! I hope she likes it, too!
I look forward to visiting you often!!!
Happy Pink Saturday and Happy Easter!!
Dana
You are lucky your daughter likes pink. I have 6 girls and 5 of them hate the color. The other one is limited as to what she does like. I seam to have the blue kiddos. Any form of a blue and we are all happy. Your children are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless and have a wonderful Easter.
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWhat little darlings you have!
Happy Easter!

Hi, welcome to pink Saturday. Your little ones are adorable.
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable pink post !!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, have a very blessed day !
Valerie, I came back to tell you that the foiled eggs are not easy. Put more than 2 dots of glue on the egg kind of in different places. Then dab it with your fingers and kind of spread it around but not all together. The foil needs to be wrapped around the egg with the color on the OUTSIDE. We learned to sort of rub the foil to get the color on the egg. Not easy, and we are adults. Wishing you luck. Jeanne
ReplyDeletePS it all washes off very easy with just water. After they are foiled let them dry. It doesn't take long.
OOPS LET THE GLUE GET STICKY, IT WORKS BETTER. J. AGAIN LOL
ReplyDeleteAwwww...they're both so sweet! I love that Pinkalicious book. I think I need to find it for my collection. Have a wonderful pink weekend!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to stop by...and if your kids like pinkalicious, then they would love my scrumptious dilirumptious treats I made :)
ReplyDeleteHey- have you been over to my website so that kids can watch "Bear Feels Sick"....hilariously I made a few videos for the kids in my life :)
I think they'll like it- especially if they are sick!!
GET WELL KIDDOS!!
p.s. hope you got my email- I hadn't heard back from you.

ReplyDeleteOh Val....those are precious times!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE childrens books and still buy them even though the kids are grown. My favorite author is Babette Cole and anything illustrated by Trina Schart-Hyman.
I actually got to meet her in L.A. when I lived in Ca, and it was like meeting the Queen of England to me. I love the book you have pictured over on the side called "No David!" Do you think your kids would loan it to me? He he he. Kids books are the best!
Have a Joyous Easter with your precious family!
Hugs, Your Neighbor Nancy :)
