One Lucky Little Girl!

Whenever I drop off the face of the blogging earth, you know it's gotta be for a good reason...like stomach flu!  Ugh!

It hit our house hard.  Mary Catherine missed two days of school, but had the weekend to recuperate and, thus didn't end up missing any holiday festivities at school.

Benjamin was a different story.  He only goes to preschool two days a week and he missed the entire week.  In fact, his stomach flu took about 10-days to run its course, so needless to say he missed his first ever holiday party.  :(  So sad for my little guy!

Baby made it through relatively unscathed.  Just a few loose stools and no vomiting.  Did run a slight fever, but the nursing helped him to fight off this round of illness.

Mommy and Daddy didn't fare as well.  You can only clean up after your kids so many times before you fall victim yourself!  So, this family of five spent about 12 days feeling icky!  We are now all on the mend and hoping to stay healthy through the New Year!

In the meantime...somebody's daddy surprised them with The Nutcracker tickets for the Christmas Eve matinee!  I am over the moon excited as I get to take Mary Catherine!  (Daddy's not really into ballet...unless of course it is to watch Mary perform!)  We are putting on our Christmas finest early to head downtown to The Music Hall in Kansas City.  (You might recall that Mary had the opportunity to dance in a local production of The Nutcracker last December and had the privilege of dancing with students from The Kansas City School of Ballet who held some of the principal roles.)

I am off to do some last minute grocery shopping and have major house-cleaning to do!  Only two more days until Mimi and Papa come to visit and the little ones are so excited.  I also have a doctor's appointment this afternoon to see a foot specialist.  But that's a whole 'nother post!

Wishing you all a great "day before , the night before, Christmas!"

Trying hard to read what it says on the ticket!

Starting to figure it out...
Giving her daddy a big hug!

Mary and Mommy after the show.  Didn't know I was expecting #3 yet!   Just couldn't figure out why I was so tired!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Your kind words are appreciated! As Mother Teresa said, "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."
