Creativity Requires Courage: Pink Vanity Sneak Peek

"Creativity takes courage."
~Henri Matisse~

I just love this quote.  It has become my new personal motto.

(I've always struggled with being creatively courageous.  I have a ridiculous fear of being wrong...displeasing to others...or lacking in perfection.)

Recently, though, I've been going out on a limb...

...trying new things...like painting furniture...and quilting...and making biscuits from scratch...

...and NOT over-thinking it!

Mary Catherine and I have been working on her bedroom makeover since summer!

It's almost finished...daddy is putting together her desk on Sunday that finally arrived (we ordered it in July!)...

...I've got some window treatments to hang...and wall art to put up...

...and the kids and I are running out to get more spray paint to finish this project

It's BRIGHT...it's PINK...and it was all MARY CATHERINE'S idea!

(I love my girl...she's totally got style!)

We took our inspiration to go from "blaaah to aaaah" from here...

I was so scared to take her creme colored vanity and spray paint it Mambo Pink, but I am even more scared of stifling my daughter's creativity by not saying yes to her ideas or ever implementing my own!

Looking forward to sharing her big room reveal in the next couple of weeks!

  5. Hi Valerie,

Thank-you so much for your kind support of Colette. She is doing well and yes, creativity takes courage. So does cancer. Creatively facing down cancer -- by shaping
that which is sick in a room-- inspires belief in one's own healing and change in the body.

I love your pink project! Way to go...worth the risk, my dear.

    Happy Pink Saturday!

    1. You are so welcome. Again, the video was so moving and the update from Beverly was uplifting. My daughter's ballet teacher (young, 20-something) is battling breast cancer...she's got a strong spirit and courage...her prognosis is good...so thinking positive thoughts!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Your kind words are appreciated! As Mother Teresa said, "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."
