Mary Catherine Cantors for All School Mass

Broken Record #1

"We've been busy, busy, busy these past few weeks."

But aren't we all?

A sweet friend of mine (IRL) is expecting twins, has 9 other children, homeschools them all except for the oldest (who is in college!) and still blogs more than me!

It's all about priorities, right?!!!

And I definitely have not been making my blog a priority... ...which is a shame because not only is it an online scrapbook of our family's doings, but it is also a creative outlet for my love of writing.

Broken Record #2

"I pledge to do better."

Yah, I think I've said that before, too, so please don't hold your breath! ;)

Anyway, at the risk of sounding like a "bragging mother", I'm going to go ahead and give a little shout out for the fabulous job my firstborn did as CANTOR for ALL SCHOOL MASS this morning!!!

Mary Catherine was so excited to be asked to cantor and practiced all weekend to get her speaking parts down and learn the lyrics to the songs. (She said she wanted to make sure she knew the words because sometimes she can't read as fast as the music goes!)

She did a super job as the only First Grader accompanying the Fourth through Eighth Grade Honor Choir at her school.

I thought she might get really nervous when she saw the parishioners down in the pews, but she did fine. We credit a lot of her self-confidence to both her maturity and her ballet experience. Structured dance lessons with twice-a-year recitals on a high school theatrical stage have helped her to become comfortable performing in front of others.

So, here's just a short (1 minute+) video of Mary leading the Opening Hymn.

Enjoy!

  1. That is so cool. She is using her talents for God. Brag away she is beautiful!.

Thank you for being impressed with my blogging but it is how I release. My older kids have memory books and the younger ones have only the blog. Poor kiddos. I am very thankful to know your family from blogging and you IRL. I can't wait for our families to meet . . . someday!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Your kind words are appreciated! As Mother Teresa said, "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."
