A brand new nativity set…

…perfect for tiny hands to play with.

  1. I love the Nativity sets that kids are allowed to touch! My kids are sticklers with not allowing Jesus to be in them until Christmas, though!

    1. I love that tradition, Colleen, but it is definitely not one that I grew up with. In fact, Nativity sets were to be seen and not touched, and Baby Jesus was already displayed in it. As we got older, we were allowed more "hands-on" contact with it, but it was never really a toy at our house…much more of a religious icon to remind us of the season of Advent. Not having Jesus in the crib in the creche does makes sense, though. I saw on a Facebook post where some families hide the baby Jesus throughout the house (instead of Elf on a Shelf)…I'm not a fan of that. I don't want to trivialize the representation of the Nativity and it's pieces. I do love that manufacturers have made child-friendly versions…I feel like my children are truly internalizing the story of Jesus' birth by being able to manipulate the pieces and talk through the story. Of course, flying sheep…landing under couches…isn't really keeping with tradition, either! LOL

    1. Thanks, Marty! I chose not to photograph the brothers fighting over the baby Jesus… *smile*

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Your kind words are appreciated! As Mother Teresa said, "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."
