MARCH!!!

IMG_2605

Eagerly awaiting tomorrow (March 1) to hang this simple wreath of grapevine and forsythia to welcome the month of March!

Goodbye Winter…the Vernal (March)Equinox (otherwise known as SPRING in the northern hemisphere) is mere weeks away (3/20).  And with it, Mother Nature ushers in warmer temps, April showers, and beautiful May flowers!

Wishing you a peaceful and simple Sunday,

  1. Very adorable! I am so ready for spring. I cannot wait for warmth and sunshine and mostly, just more time outside! I always feel so much lighter when it's sunny and warm!

  2. That is very pretty. We do something else with a wreath just like that for Lent. We take toothepicks and die them red (or pink) with koolaid. We then lay the wreath on the center of the dinning room table and put all the "thorns" into the "crown". For our family it must be very full. We leave a small dish in the center. Then as each person does a kind act during the day they get to go remove one "thorn" from Christ's crown. The hope is that teaching the children that their acts of kindness will ease the pain of our Lord. It really does make them think about this. On Holy Saturday the "Easter Bunny" takes out the thorns. Now I know that the bunny needs to add those beautiful yellow flowers.

  3. Shannon,

What a beautiful tradition you have started...I bet that crown of thorns is full! But, oh what a powerful teaching lesson!!!

I might have to incorporate this "hands-on" lesson with my own two little ones...what a beautiful way to remember Christ on a daily basis during this Lenten season. I am going to send a few fellow Catholic bloggers a message to read your comment.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    XOXO,
    Val

  4. Can't wait for spring. I'm afraid, however, it's going to be colder than normal considering the winter we've had. I'm on the way to check out your friend's comments on the Canon. Thanks.

  5. I haven't been over your way in a while and love all the updates! And I LOVE that wreath!!! I have a goal to have a wreath for every season for our front door, and if I use fake flowers, I may just make this one for spring!

Thanks for the faithful comments on our little posts, sweet blogger friend!

Hope you baby bean is growing strong. I have been faithfully praying for God to work His miracles and give you the baby that was meant for you and the baby that is being created in HIS image.

    Love from Texas!
