The Gift of Music
Lots of fun things have been happening at our house!
Most recently, my parents came to visit and babysit our three kiddos so that my husband and I could take a long weekend-get-away. It was our first vacation without our children and I did better than I thought I would. (I don't have a problem with using babysitters for a night out (dinner, movie, museums, etc.), but overnight-ing is a whole different thing!) We spent a long weekend in Sarasota, Florida. Beautiful!
In addition, we received the gift of a gently-used piano from a former colleague of mine. We feel so blessed to be able to offer the gift of music to our children. Both my husband and I sing, and I play the piano (poorly!), so it has been a common discussion around our home on how we could affordably purchase a piano and offer our children lessons. When the opportunity presented itself to be able to acquire a gently-used piano from a colleague who has since retired from education and is downsizing from their current home, I jumped at the chance. We're already in love with our new piano!

After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Fabulous! I was beside myself last fall when I inherited a keyboard. I took piano lessons for nine years growing up and I still play whenever I have the chance. How wonderful that you can pass down that appreciation for music to your kiddos; and the piano looks to be in great shape.
ReplyDeleteFun for you guys!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the kids will have fun with this as you will. What a
great way to get a piano!
