October Love...Eighteen Years!
To say I love the season of Fall would be an understatement.
I adore everything about this season...from back to school in "September" (does anyone (except homeschoolers) go back to to school in September?...we start mid-August, ugh!), to falling leaves, apple picking, pumpkin-patching, and trick-or-treating. I love it all!
Then we slide right into November where my love for all things yellow, red, orange and brown continues. The sights, the smells, the sounds.
Canadian geese, burning leaves, and farm fields being harvested...all make Kansas a patchwork of beauty that delights the senses!
This past weekend, the official turning of the calender from September to October also marked another year of matrimony for my sweet husband and me.
Eighteen years on October 2nd. And three beautiful children to show for it.
More about our Anniversary Weekend later.
P.S. Not sure that I'm liking the layout of my new blog header, but I do adore the pictures. One might say that I have a bit of an obsession with coordinating my children's Halloween costumes. I'm not sure the older two are going to let me get away with this for much longer...silly independent-minded little things!...but both agreed to one last year of "costumes by mama" so that Luke can be included in the coordination effort! :)
P.S.S. Someone is reallllly close to walking. I might not have to carry him into kindergarten after all!

Happy Anniversary!! God bless you all!
ReplyDeleteIn MN most schools start after Labor Day which is always in September...but some schools do start in August. We homeschool and started in August!
I am so glad that you are back. I want to hear all about the leaves and crisp air. I am so jealous. Houston has had one day of rain and so many trees are dead. They say we will loose about 60% of all the trees because of the drought so far. So sad. I miss the leaves changing for the right reason. My heart is happy that we will be visiting St. Louis for Halloween.
ReplyDeletePS I stopped with the maching costumes but then as they got older the big kids liked taking the little ones out together so they started organizing matching outfits. Fun!
I love the new header! Halloween is so much fun and the matching costumes are adorable!!!! I can't wait to see what the 3 of them will be this year.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I celebrate our anniversary at the end of the month. October (in the mid-west) was such a gorgeous time to be married.
Happy Anniversary and Happy Fall!
It is a fun filled time of year!
