There's a Jayhawk in my Car
KU Jayhawk inside my minivan. I'm an MU graduate! |
Last night, on the way to ballet, I needed to return a Redbox DVD. Our Redbox is located at McDonalds...convenient...no?...and so I swung in and parked in an "illegal" parking spot next to the Redbox machine.
I jumped out of my car...leaving the door open...and the next thing I know Jay is peeking into my car! My kids were terrified. HA!
Mary, dead serious, asked, "Mom, is it okay if I smiled at him? He wasn't a tiger!"
Hilarious! (I've trained them well!)
(For non-Missourians/AKA BIG 12 Conference fans, the mascot for Missouri is the Tiger)
And you just happened to have your camera on you as you jumped out to return the movie . . . you are amazing. I got the tiger reference right away. Too funny. Smart girl.
ReplyDeleteNope! As I was lamenting that I ALWAYS have my camera on me and didn't take it with me to drop off at ballet, the McDonald's manager ran out and asked if he could snap a picture of me! He was so kind and offered to email me copies!!!
ReplyDeleteLove small-town living!
"Rock Chalk, Jayhawk"
ReplyDeleteOne of my good friends from college went to KU. I love Lawrence--what a cute town! Actually, I really like the whole Kansas City area, it has that small big city feel. Hope you cool down soon. :)

ReplyDeleteDid you know who was behind this little trick???
Too funny!

My nephew Brad would totally love Jayhawk. He just turned two, and I love the way his face lights up when he sees a mascot. Oh man, I sometimes miss the joys of small-town living.
